Graham Walzer & Nathanael Turner + Blog & Publishing

I worked with Michael for a few years at Daylight Magazine. He has some really great documentary work, but has turned to a more conceptual place over the last year or so. His newer work seems to be dealing with the modern image, media and other ideas plaguing the current status of the photograph. (At least, that’s how I interpret it). Transportation, movement and perception of place also seem to be relevant topics.

Graffiti writer KATSU, kicking up dust in NYC.

It seems like it was like week I was in New York. I wandered deep in thought taking photographs intuitively.

New York’s Michael Schmelling. Amazing photographs of hip hop, indie and all kinds of culture. He also killed it with last year’s release of his book Atlanta. If you haven’t seen it, go, now, find it.

And some impressive design work as well.
